Introduction to the Generix Cladding System
The unique Techlever fixing system uses a bespoke vertical rail detail having an integrated 2-part tile fixing clip that can be inserted into the rail without the need for drilling of the clips, with the tiles being compressed against a hidden neoprene foam pad which is incorporated into the rail design.
This neoprene foam has an anti-vibration function and is designed to be hidden from view to prevent any long term ultraviolet degradation.
The Generix Techlever aluminium substructure has a design and configuration that allows:
- For the elimination of any light reflection from the metallic substructure behind, which is sometimes visible between tiles on other systems.
- For secure retention of the terracotta tiles against the main vertical substructure rails using a patented clip system, although allowing tile removal when required, using a special tool.
- For the prevention of the direct passage of any rain water from the exterior side of the facade to the inner leaf construction.

The aluminium profile used with Generix transfers back to the structure the direct weight of the cladding and has an excellent resistance to any imposed wind loads, etc. The system has been thoroughly tested and projected to support far heavier loads than the tiles used.
The substructure has also been designed to accommodate any thermal movement of the tiles and also to negate any possible corrosive problem from the atmospheric corrosion/bimetallic reactions between clips and rails.
The tile is anchored using a 2-part steel inox clip AISI 304 which is attached to the vertical rail using a patented method. This clip requires no drilling or riveting, resulting in fast assembly times on site.
Generix' Techlever substructure is designed to allow mounting/dismounting of a tile without damaging it by using a specialist tool. In this way it is also possible to carry out maintenance of the building’s structure using the original tile in the reconstruction, preventing otherwise possible chromatic changes between new tiles and previously weathered tiles. |
